Paper Dolls

So this pandemic has been interesting. The public libraries closed for safety along with everything else. My library was very generous with the staff and paid for library staff to stay home the first few months of closure. I wanted to do something productive with my time, so I started making paper dolls. I wanted to provide a fun inexpensive way for parents to entertain their children while they were stuck at home.

I love drawing cute animals and clothing, so most of my paper dolls are animals. There were 2 important things I wanted to accomplish when designing my paper dolls.

1. Each human paper doll needed to come in a variety of skin tones.

2. All of the doll clothing should be wearable by every doll.

I also got rid of paper tabs, because I find them frustrating and not very versatile. Instead I laminate my paper dolls and use sticky tack to attach the clothing. Building a busy book with these dolls can also be great entertainment for quiet time, car trips, or as a classroom activity.
