Farmyard Storytime
About
This project is an example of my ability to create a story time for mixed ages, using different storytelling methods that help to engage and develop the brain and motor skills.
For this project, I include an opening and closing song that I would consistently use across each story time. This plan includes three books, three rhymes and two songs (not including the opening and ending songs). There are instructions for how to involve children including repetition, hand motions, finger plays and a felt board. Story time is followed by share time which allows children to play together and parents time to talk to each other. There are four areas of play planned: noisemakers and instruments, a building area, puppet theater and a selection of books related to the theme. This is designed so children can gravitate toward their interests.
