Board Game Collection
About
This project is an example of my ability to manage a collection, select and acquire materials, catalog and process materials, and create a menu for presentation.
To create the board game collection, I pitched an idea for an adult board game collection to the Director. With his permission and a generous donation from the Friends of the Library, I was able to purchase 20 games.
I chose board games that would represent diverse game play mechanics and themes as well as variety in player count, from games that could be played solo to games that can be played by larger groups. My goal was that most of the games should be playable in 1 hour or less. I also chose games that were highly recommended and many of them are considered gateway games.
I created an attractive menu in Canva to inform patrons about the games including player count and play time. I also modified the library logo to make labels for the board games. Each game has an inventory card taped inside the box cover. I wrote bibliographic records from scratch for the cataloging system.
